Winds Of Change

Staying relevant in a sea of everyday winds of change. Has many creative people questioning the rule-makers. We are so busy trying to keep up with the trends and rules, we lose our purpose alone the way. We become exhausted and uninspired.

Your not alone, I’ve been on that roller coaster and I’m here to tell you that it will derail your creative passion faster than anything. I was that person trying to keep up with the general consensus of what I had to have and do, in order to have a creative life.

I was reading and doing everything I could get my hands on, instead of what brought me joy. When I failed at not being able to keep up with the demands of the never-ending changes. I had to ask myself where did I go wrong? Instead of creating, I was keeping up with my analytics numbers on my social media platform, or what was the next best product or enhancements for my sites.

All of the beautiful projects laid dormant. While I became obsessed. What I did next was something I‘m sure the experts on all the You Must Do This, would tell you were crazy. I stopped! I stopped looking at my numbers, I stopped the must-have obsession and started my love of reading, about creative people and their world. I started creating again. I centered and renewed my faith in my need to create.

The take away is this, artist need to create that is what we do. It brings us joy and makes us happy. Andy Warhol said it best, “Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad. Weather they love it or hate it. While their deciding make more art.”
Five fabulous, things to do as a creative person:
1. do what you do
2. don’t give your creative power away
3. stay center while you create
4. share your creative
5. enjoy your passion and life
